WABL Wrap Week 15 – 11/08/24

All of our “Player of the Game” superstars will receive a FREE PIZZA from our friends at Domino’s Kalamunda – Thanks Guys!

Players of the round:

Matilda Little (U16 Girls) – This weeks POTR goes to a lady who continues to grind and be a vital piece of the puzzle and our teams success.
Her presence in defense and rebounding helps lead to our team’s offence.
Keep up the great work Matilda Little.

Christian Gomez (U14 Boys) – This was truly a team effort, but Christian Gomez stood out. Over the past few weeks, even parents have noticed that I’ve been relying on him more, and that’s because he’s really stepping up. His improvement on defense and ball handling is earning my trust. Today, it felt like I could call his number anytime with full confidence that he’d deliver, and he absolutely did—defense, hustle, and knocking down a key three-pointer. I’m excited to see him take on an even bigger role as we head into the finals.

U12 Girls Black – Lawrence West (Sponsored by: KTrans)

Won against Rockingham Flames (52 – 36)

Coaches notes

This season, we’ve struggled with slow starts that have held us back from reaching our full potential. This week, the goal was clear: to play a complete game together as a team.

The girls huddled up on court before the tip-off, ready and united. What followed was arguably our best start of the season, as we quickly jumped to a 9-0 lead. From there, we maintained control throughout the game, our fantastic teamwork and ball movement on full display.

Facing a taller Flames team, it was especially pleasing to see everyone stepping up in rebounding, preventing easy put-backs. When we’re connected like we were today, we can compete with any team in our division, and it’s a joy to watch.

Next week, we face a tough challenge against a strong Redbacks side that hasn’t lost since the first round. We’re ready for the test, but we’ll need to stay focused for the entire game to secure the win. Hopefully we can build on our recent consistency as we approach the finals

Player of the game

Several players made a strong case for player of the game this week, and a couple of honourable mentions are well deserved:

Harper Dostal continued to fill the stat sheet, contributing 12 points, 9 assists, and 9 steals—just shy of a triple-double—while shooting 100% from the line.

Zoe Keene once again proved too much for the defence, scoring 15 points and consistently getting to the foul line.

However, this week’s player of the game goes to Sophie Perazzo. Sophie took her game to another level, scoring 7 points, but it was her commitment to doing whatever the team needed that truly set her apart. She led our team in rebounds with 13, added 6 assists, and recorded 7 steals! Her defensive presence caused several turnovers, and her incredible outlet passes ignited our transition offence. Sophie’s progress this season has been fantastic—keep it up, superstar!

U12 Girls Orange – Lizzie Falconbridge

Loss against Perry Lakes Hawks (38 – 41))

U12 Girls White – Jemma Gartrell

Loss against East Perth Eagles (18 – 57)

Coaches notes

We had moments where we played with good intensity and got some really good intercepts.

Player of the game

Lakshmi gave it her all from start to finish, which inspired the rest of the team to step up and follow her lead.

U12 Boys Black – Brad Dowd (Sponsored by: Fern Landscapes)

Loss against Joondalup Wolves (39 – 50)

Coaches notes

We started the game ready and prepared for a challenge. We were strong on the boards and made some good shot choices. The second quarter caught us off guard physically and we started to feel the pressure. Whilst the boys kept the intensity up they found themselves getting frustrated and playing at a rate of panic. Cohen , Frank and Alex were a formidable force on defense and forced some key turnovers.

We gathered ourselves ready for the 3rd quarter and came out strong. Our defensive pressure was brilliant, however we couldn’t catch a break and were penalised unfairly throughout the third and fourth quarters. The boys put up some great shots and Sven, Kade and Hunter’s efforts around the ring were exceptional, however we couldn’t get the ball to drop. Darragh set some great screens and had some key rejections, and alongside Nathanael, was strong on the boards.

It was a hard loss this weekend and one the boys won’t forget any time soon. They should hold their heads up high and be proud of their efforts as they showed passion for the game under extraordinary circumstances.

Player of the game

Player of the round this week goes to Nathanael. He was an absolute machine on the boards and showed why he is a force under the basket. He moved well in transition and when inside, he was very hard to defend.

U12 Boys Orange – Lizzie Falconbridge (Sponsored by: Alliance Engineering Consultants Pty Ltd)

Won against Rockingham Flames (87 – 27)

Coaches notes

A great bounce-back game from the boys today after an off game last week. The pressure was turned right up on the defensive end and to say we suffocated the opposition is an understatement. The most pleasing thing in the game was that every player contributed both defensively and offensively. Everybody hit the scoreboard, rebounded and played great team basketball. If we play like we did today for the rest of the season, no team will beat us.

Player of the game

In such a fantastic team win, it is hard to pick out one player of the game. Every player could have made a case for today’s award. In the end we awarded two players for their efforts. Carter Murdoch started his second game of the season and showed his continued improvement, dominating under the basket against some big opposition. Zarene Samson is another player improving game after game. He is controlling the offense and showcasing his lock-down defense on opposition ballhandlers. Well done boys!

U12 Boys White – Ben Marks (Sponsored by: Joel Dixon)

Loss against Perry Lakes Hawks (48 – 70)

Coaches notes

We went in the game hoping to capitalise on a good performance against Perry Lakes at the Winter Classic, where we were able to play out a draw. The first quarter was close, with both teams feeling out one another in a defensive tussle with points hard to come by. The second quarter was also tight, with Perry Lakes nailing some crucial free throws on the half time buzzer to take an 8 point lead. The boys failed to capitalise on a strong first half in the third quarter with Perry Lakes going on a 14-0 run to take a handy lead. We were able to fight back from some good ball movement and strong full court defense forcing some turnovers in the backcourt. A tight fourth quarter saw us cut into the lead, but it was too little too late. Our opponent’s composure allowed them to hold on for the win.

There was some strong, disciplined play by many of the boys this week. Declan rebounded and defended in the paint well and Will kept up his good form in recent weeks. Both Lucas’s were their usual consistent selves on both ends of the court as was Ollie on the defensive end. Brock had some impressive drives to the basket for some key points at times.

Player of the game

Zane’s scoring consistency is a real asset to the team, although his efficiency was down a bit this week. The player of the round this week goes to birthday boy Jax, who filled in admirably as a development player. His composure with the ball under pressure, defensive intensity and commitment to moving the ball on offense was so helpful to the team. He ably assisted many points and hit the boards when asked. A well-rounded game that would have filled the stat sheet! Congrats Jax.

U12 Boys Blue – Declan Kinsella

Loss against Hills Raiders (46 – 47)

Coaches notes

At the start of the game it was a slight concern to see the average height difference between the two teams to be around the 1.5ft mark, the young group of boys took no notice and quickly took the game to the taller visitors.

1st positive was the team out rebounded the taller opposition, rough count in the coaches head was three to one in our favour, which was a fantastic effort!

2nd positive was our pressure on the inbound, the boys had great timing and effectively pressured the ball to turnover a number of times. With the great defensive pressure came a number of bad passes picked off by our 3 and four man, again a fantastic effort.

3rd the transition up the court, they effectively navigated defense with heads up looking for that good pass up the court, and finding the space when the pass wasn’t there.

4th was the energy the boys had to try and chase the win, for a team with a high percentage of three year players, the competitiveness was great to see. This includes taking feedback on the bench and then using it straight away when back on the court.

If they can come out playing with the intensity of the fourth quarter and have confidence in their skills, this group will be a real threat to teams come finals.

Player of the game

Nate Farrier – We gave the group feedback to really attack the gaps in the oppositions defense and he executed this to really narrow the score, and backed it up with great pressure with defense.

Great work Nate.

Won against Lakeside Lightning (44 – 38)

U14 Girls Orange – Lawrence West (Sponsored by: Genesis Craft)

Won against Joondalup Wolves (46 – 37)

Coaches notes

This week I wasn’t sure how we were going to play, still being shorthanded and several available players feeling unwell. I should have known better than to underestimate our group who frequently find a way to get it done together.

Even though sometimes struggling to breathe, the effort and determination was never in doubt. By halftime, we had carved out an 8-point lead, but we were cooked. The second half was going to be all about survival. The Wolves made their push in the third quarter, outscoring us and narrowing the gap to just 5 points.

The last quarter was much of the same, seeing Joondalup chip away at our lead and close the gap to just 2 points. We were running on empty and feeling the pressure. Some words of wisdom from our team leaders saw us come together and get the job done. Wolves didn’t score again and we are able to push the margin out to 9.

Every week presents new challenges, and I am constantly impressed with our ability to support each other in whatever comes our way. We are playing some of our best basketball of the season and hope to see this form continue as we head into finals.

Player of the game

No single player of the game this week—because without everyone showing up and giving it their all, we wouldn’t have made it through. Huge effort, and I truly appreciate each of you. Team reward incoming!

U14 Girls White (Rick Anderson)

Loss against South West Slammers (36 – 65)

U14 Girls Blue – Adam Chambers

(Sponsored by: Newtrend IT Specialists Pty Ltd)

Loss against East Perth Eagles (33 – 36)

Coaches notes

We went into a dangerous game for us, needing to win to keep our top 3 chances alive and without 3 of our regular starters, we got off to a great start.

The first 2 quarters was all us and we controlled the game pretty well, but unfortunately couldn’t get reward for effort and we went into half time 20 – 14 up. During the 2nd quarter we lost another player to sickness which shortened our rotations.

The 2nd half was completely different to the first half, we had to fight for everything and we were running out of energy. With less energy, rebounds and defense, we got sloppy and leaked points that we shouldn’t have. We still took a 7 point lead going into the last.

The last quarter we were out scored 15 – 5 to East Perths hard running and they doubled the rebound count for the quarter.
Some girls were run off their feet and couldn’t have done anymore to help their team mates.

Special mentions to the 2 DP’s that played and did really well, they worked hard in offence and defense to give some girls a well deserved break.
Indigo was everywhere and fought hard all game and caused a lot of damage when she was on the court.
Zara had a very good defensive game and Chloe was playing amazingly until she went down sick in the 2nd quarter.

Player of the game

Imogen was our player of the match for her energy and effort and leadership she showed the whole game. Immy stood tall and tried to fill any gaps in defense and looked to put pressure on the ball at any opportunity. Her offence was outstanding and she deserved more points for her effort. Immy should be very proud of herself for everything she did today. She tried her best to promote positive basketball and motivate her teammates to lift even though they were very tired.

Keep working hard Imogen.

U14 Boys Black – Adrian Mok (Sponsored by: SWISH Plan Management)

Loss against Rockingham Flames (48 – 83)

U14 Boys Orange – Patrick Massam (Sponsored by: Pacific Automation Pty Ltd)

Loss against Perth Redbacks (47 – 74)

Coaches notes

A frustrating loss this week, the boys played a great defensive game in the first half which wasn’t able to be maintained in the second. Combine that with the team as a whole not quite clicking offensively at the moment the game ran away.

We are lucky to have this Redbacks team in our division as they are a good indicator of what this orange team is trying to develop towards. Now having won and lost a game to them we learn that it doesn’t take much for the game to slip away, and takes a lot of effort to keep the lead.

Hopefully we take a few lessons away and add to the skills and decision making abilities these boys have.

Player of the game

Brodie Sims – For his great help in defense and pulling in a number of tough rebounds against some tall timber. Great work!

U14 Boys White – Joel Warner

Won against Rockingham Flames (80 – 63)

Coaches notes

On Sunday we made the drive south to Rockingham to play, what James and I feel, is a very underrated Rockingham Team. I was very happy with how the Suns White boys put together a four-quarter game, outscoring the Flames in each quarter. There were elements of the game where we left points on the table and didn’t finish with a score, but our game style held up well and we put ourselves in positions to score regularly. I would like to acknowledge our improvement in offensive transition and the discipline we showed to stick with our defensive structures and hold down strong defensive lines when Rockingham (a very fast outfit) attacked us. Further, we changed Team defenses several times each quarter, depending on the personnel, which shows the boys have learned to get organised into position quickly. I put this organisation down to communication and hard work, two basketball skills this Team places a premium on. All credit goes to the players for their ability to stick to the game plan this week. Again, we had all 10 players leaving with a score, showing our depth, and our scoring spread as well as our ability to facilitate and share the basketball. From a coaching perspective, James and I were happy with much of the game, as there were few structural breakdowns, particularly defensively. Well done Suns White, a whole Team effort again.

Player of the game

For those who read along each week, you’ll know how important the intangible things are to James and I. That’s how we produce a balanced scoring spread, how we build trust in the players, how we share the good feelings, because we’ve all contributed. So, again, several players should be credited this week with their individual games, and in no particular order, Chad was an instrumental Team-mate this week, showing effort and unselfish basketball. Reuben took his off-ball movement to another level, getting involved in the game from all angles. Callum ‘set the table’ and structured the Team well offensively, while Asten and Kade put up productive scoring numbers. Kade, impressed with his court vision and should be credited and Asten protected the ball in the half-court. Further, Sam and Billy worked in tandem, each scoring, but more importantly facilitating and stretching the opposition. Ethan provided spark (as always) and Mathew improved his shot selection and gave intensive defensive effort, as he does every week. However, one piece of the Suns White puzzle who was huge on Sunday was Phoenix. Phoenix is a quiet motivator and a true leader. All good leaders, in some way, do it through action. Phoenix is so versatile and this week he led both the first and second group. He offers protection for the guards and competes with the biggest players in the league. He is an old-fashioned swing-man, who can play in transition, getting to the basket, or he can settle and play the pick-and-roll from the wing. He stretches defenses because he shoots, and he is a rebounding beast under the basket. All of that is great to recognise; even raise one’s hat to, but he is an outstanding young man with leadership potential. He played a great game on Sunday (3 assists, 6 points, 9 rebounds, 3 steals) but some might not have seen how he quietly led the Team and balanced out two separate playing groups. He has bought into the style of play, and he should be recognised as player of the week. Phoenix, great leadership. A worthy player of the round.

U14 Boys Blue – Yi Gan (Sponsored by: Excess Power Equipment)

Loss against Lakeside Lightning (60 – 64)

Coaches notes

What a game! This was one of the most memorable matches I’ve ever coached, and a perfect learning experience for the boys. Even though it was a loss, I couldn’t be happier with how it unfolded—a true showcase of what it means to play through ups and downs. The atmosphere was electric, with intense opposition fans and colorful language flying around, but the umpires kept their cool and managed the rowdy home crowd brilliantly.

I have to say, our boys showed incredible maturity. They’ve learned to stay composed, not letting external factors influence their play. No extreme highs or lows—just staying focused and present, taking care of business.

This was a battle between the top two teams, with Lakeside holding the first spot and us in second. We were the only team to hand them a loss this season, and having watched them play four times, we knew their biggest threats were Liam (24) and Elliot (13), both agile and dangerous bigs.

Adam did an outstanding job defensively, holding Elliot to single digits while scoring 11 points himself and staying out of foul trouble until the fourth quarter.

We were without Chandler for the second week due to flu-like symptoms, and Atticus was just coming back from a fever. Despite that, Atticus picked up right where he left off, knocking down threes like they were layups, after scoring all his points inside last week.

The game was a rollercoaster, with a close first quarter that saw Lakeside leading by one. At one point, Lakeside went up by 10, but we battled back to take a 9-point lead.

The fourth quarter was intense. Atticus took a hard foul, bruising his hip, and we saw our 7-point lead dwindle as our offense slowed down. We were clinging to a 3-point lead with possession when a turnover gave Lakeside a chance to tie with under 20 seconds left.

Lakeside called a timeout, and we discussed protecting the 3-point line, willing to give up the 2 but not the 3. Unfortunately, there was a lapse in focus, and we allowed an open 3, which they drained. And you know what? I thought it was fantastic! These are the moments you learn from—no amount of practice can prepare you for real-game pressure like this. It was the best thing that could have happened in a Round 15 game where the result didn’t impact the standings. The boys, and probably the parents, might have thought I was crazy for being happy about it, but it was a crucial learning experience. They’ll never forget to close out on the perimeter again.

The game went to overtime, and with about 2 minutes left and the score tied, I made a bold decision to swap out all four starters—Adam, Jesse, Kobe, and Atticus—who had already proven they could handle the pressure. I wanted to see how our fresher, 4 off the bench players, would respond in such a high-stakes environment, and they almost pulled it off. Tied with 4 seconds left, we fouled, and Lakeside hit both free throws. We had one last chance after a timeout. I kept it simple: one shooter in the corner, get the ball in, set a screen, and go for the win. We weren’t playing for a tie; we were going for the win and living with the result. Unfortunately, the inbound pass was a turnover, and that ended the game.

A beautiful loss.

Player of the game

This was truly a team effort, but Christian Gomez stood out.

U16 Girls Black – Stewart Winsor & Elijah Gray

Won against Perry Lakes Hawks (42 – 38)

Coaches notes

Top of the table clash to pretty much decide who finishes on top of the ladder and get the slight edge going into the finals. We had a 2-0 head to head lead against them this year but both games were decided by 2 points or less, so we knew they were going to come at us with everything they had.

The first quarter was very even and almost went score for score for the whole quarter. Both teams wouldn’t get ahead of the other and we took a 1 point lead going into the 2nd.

2nd quarter both teams defense’s worked hard to keep the pressure on the other team. Unfortunately for us, we couldn’t score as we didn’t move much in offence which meant we didn’t move the defense to create space. Even though we played great defense in the quarter, we didn’t get the turnovers and loose rebounds we are used to getting which creates our fast transition basketball. Perry Lakes took a 25 – 17 half time lead.

At half time before the coaches could even say a word the girls were revving each other up and really talking about the first half and were looking very positive about the 2nd half. The coaches pretty much repeated and reinforced what the girls said. (This was the first time they really took control of the half time huddle, and took responsibility for the actions).

The girls came out firing and really took it to Perry Lakes and it was only a matter of time before they were ready to explode and take over the game. The girls shut down Perry Lakes inside game and made Perry Lakes change their game style which suited us better. We still couldn’t get our transition offence going the way we wanted but our half court offence was starting to look better and more active. Perry Lakes took a 5 point lead going into the last but all the momentum was in our court.

4th quarter started and there was only ever going to be 1 result and that was the suns girls winning, it was only a matter of time. 4 mins into the last quarter, the girls asked for a timeout to recharge and talk about what was needed, it was the best timeout for the season for them because they went on the court and only let Perry Lakes score 1 basket in the next 6 minutes and the girls took over the rebounds which got our transition offence going and we scored the next 12 points to win by 5 points.

Special mentions to Kaia, Asha and Pene for taking over the rebounds and doubling Perry Lakes rebounds in the last quarter and Isla, Charlie and George for upping the pressure in defense and stopping any easy passes into the paint.

Player of the game

Player of the game went to the leader of the court Pene. Pene has always been attacking and lead the team with her actions, but today she lead with her voice on and off the court. Pene inspired her team mates to get louder and be proactive in offence and defense and she lead by example with shut down defense and attacking offence, looking for spaces or creating them with her drives. Pene especially in the last quarter when the game was in the balance, tilted the scales to our advantage and her team mates followed her.
Great work Pene, you smashed through your wall today and the sky’s the limit for you!

U16 Girls Orange – Andrew Herbert

Loss against Mandurah Magic (47 – 77)

Coaches notes

With the regular season almost over, we were able to get a W without our squad at full strength. Against the Magic we were able to battle throughout the first three quarters but were unable to do what we do in the fourth with everyone playing well during the game but unable to get the job done.

Player of the game

This weeks POTR goes to a lady who continues to grind and be a vital piece of the puzzle and our teams success.
Her presence in defense and rebounding helps lead to our team’s offence.
Keep up the great work Matilda Little.

U16 Girls White – Daniel Heyman

Loss against Perry Lakes Hawks (35 – 65)

Coaches notes

We played a well fought first half, executing our half-court offensive principles of play. Defensively, our talk and connectivity were a big improvement on weeks prior. Playing an undefeated Hawks team was always going to be a challenge. In the second half we were out rebounded and we allowed too much penetration in the key.

Looking forward to our last round of the regular season, we hope to take it to a tough Wolves team. Heading into finals with momentum would be a great way to round things off.

Player of the game

Shelby Lewis: Though Shelby top scored for us, it was her relentless effort on defense that landed her Player of the Game. She was awesome on ball and applied our help defense principles excellently to impact the game at both ends. Outstanding work, Shelby!

U16 Boys Black – Declan Kinsella

(Sponsored by: Angus Flexible Pipelines Australia Pty Ltd)

Loss against Rockingham Flames (67 – 86)

U16 Boys Orange – Hayden Bird

Loss against South West Slammers (62 – 78)

Coaches notes

The boys came out with a lot of energy to start the game, but it was the third quarter that really stood out. Despite some ups and downs earlier on, they dialed up the teamwork and brought relentless defensive intensity, showcasing our true firepower.

Player of the game

Tadiwa Rukodzi: Tadi had worked hard throughout the game for his team as he does most weeks. With his high energy defensive effort it works well with his fastbreak styled offence, which helped keep us working hard.
Great job Tadi.

U16 Boys White – Thor Amundsen

Loss against Warwick Senators (66 – 76)

Coaches notes

With our combinations tested again in this match through illness, injury and foul trouble, we found ourselves in (at stages) a big hole to climb out of. It was a challenging game mentally, with many decisions not going our way and needing to adjust on the fly.
Some good lessons in our defensive structures and resilience when our backs were really against the wall. We finished with a 15-2 run to end the game but fell short of the win.

Player of the game

Xavier Marr was this weeks player of the game, applying relentless pressure and effort, although fouling out in the fourth. Xavier has demonstrated great levels of persistence and resilience to become a valued team member.

U16 Boys Blue – Derek Quayle

Won against Cockburn Cougars (70 – 68)

Coaches notes

Last time we played this team we lost by 87 points. To come out in a clincher, with a 2 point win, is a huge turnaround and I want to acknowledge the hard work and effort that has gone in to this win. What makes this win even better is we did it with only 8 players.

This game was a tale of 2 halves. Our first half was good but we were allowing them too many points in transition which led to a 15 point deficit. They always say that the 3rd quarter is the premiership quarter and we proved that today with a really strong effort to claw back 13 points to only be down by 2 heading in the last quarter.

The maintained effort in the 4th quarter saw us hold our nerve and complete the win with a last second out of bounds play, that led to the winning score.

Everyone played amazing today. Jacob put his body on the line all game. Lucas played as a big man and dominated the boards while scoring 14 (including the winning 2 points). Marcus’s defense was outstanding all game. Cooper played one of his best games and chipped in with 7 points. Ronron was everywhere today and top scored with 16.

Sandrae really stepped up and put in some good minutes of sustained effort, while scoring 15. Tom was a beast on defense getting quite a few steals and deflections. Ben’s help side defense and presence on the boards was outstanding.

Player of the game

This was such a hard game to pick just a single player but I am giving it to Ronron. His overall effort on both defense and offense was excellent. He top scored with 16 points while running our offense as a true point guard.

U18 Girls Black – Rick Batista

Won against Joondalup Wolves (78 – 37)

Coaches notes

Our defense was very good, we really choked out the opposition in various different formations. It was pleasing to see. All 9 contributed really well again with no passengers and that may well be the most pleasing aspect of coaching this great young bunch.

Player of the game

Ana Vletter gets the nod this week, we stopped counting after her 12th steal and 20th deflection, this young lady is so phenomenal in what she does for our team week in and week out. Hustles like nobody I’ve ever seen on a court for her girls, her offence continues to improve week on week too. Couldn’t be prouder Ana, well done.

U18 Girls Orange – Charlie Smart (Sponsored by: Parker Crofts & Co)

Loss against Lakeside Lightning (57 – 85)

U18 Boys Black – Cooper Lowe (Sponsored by: Silverstone)

Loss against Rockingham Flames (101 – 116)

Coaches notes

A tough ask for the team with only 6 players available to suit up. Two key outs, along with illness and injury meant our backs were against the wall prior to tip off. Talk about gutsy though, the boys battled away and can hold their heads high after being super competitive. This group of young men have been super impressive this season and Round 16 will be a banger before we start our finals campaign and head into National Under 18 Championships.

Player of the game

Jhye Stoker dropped 43 points and played through injury as well. He also made a concerted effort to bring his teammates into the game. He was outstanding in transition and has grown in recent weeks as a leader on and off the court. Tough, controlled and composed, your future is bright young man.

U18 Boys Orange – Brad Dowd (Sponsored by: GJ Demo Pty Ltd)

Won against Perry Lakes Hawks (57 – 48)

Coaches notes

Wasn’t our best game, but the boys did enough to get the W. We tried some new defensive tactics, which worked well, but we struggled to get our offences going beyond the first or second options. We ran the fast break well, which was good to see.

Thomas and Tom continued to work hard under the ring down both ends and Jack had some strong finishes to top score with 13 points.

Player of the game

Isaiah wins player of the round with his crafty style of basketball and quick hands in defense. Isaiah shot 56% from the field and 40% beyond the arc.

U18 Boys White – Rae D’Sylva

Loss against Lakeside Lightning (59 – 96)

U18 Boys Blue – Bailey Ferguson (Sponsored by: Amy Jacobson Pty Ltd)

Loss against Willetton Tigers (60 -68)

U20 Boys Black – Lochy Brown

Loss against Perry Lakes Hawks (80 – 111)

U21 Girls Black – Lizel Buckley

Won against Warwick Senators (90 – 84)

Coaches notes

This was a tough win.
We made it hard for ourselves with the lack of defense and rebounding was a struggle for the whole game. We had to grind it out for the whole game.
Roxy hit two crucial 3’s in the fourth quarter which put us up by 1 point. All the girls rallied together in the fourth quarter for the Win.

Player of the game

The whole team needs to be recognised for the amazing efforts and sticking out throughout the game. Having 3 players hit 20 points is awesome! Roxy, Tessa and Skye.
